Cinnamon (dalchini) is an English word, which was incorporated into English lore in the 15th century. The scientific name of cinnamon is Cinnamomum verum. A small evergreen tree growing up to 10–15 m (32.8–49.2 ft), it is found in large quantities in Sri Lanka and South India. The bark produced from this tree is called Cinnamon in Hindi.
