3.Take cool, refreshing food in summer or hot weather, like salads, milk, and ice cream.
4.Take pitta pacifying herbal tea such as mint or licorice root tea.
5.Cold cereal, cinnamon toast, and apple tea is a good breakfast for a Pitta.
6.Vegetarian foods, in general, are the best for Pittas.
7.Abundant amounts of milk, grains, and vegetables should be consumed.

WHAT NOT TO EAT

1.Pittas should use less butter and added fat.
2.Avoid pickles, sour cream, and cheese etc.
3.Avoid vinegar in salad dressing (use lemon juice instead).
4.Alcoholic and fermented foods should be avoided.
5.Avoid oily, hot, salty, and heavy foods such as anything fried.
6.Reduce too much intake of coffee.
7.Pittas should also skip egg yolks, nuts, hot spices, honey, and hot drinks.

1.The Kapha dosha (earth and water elements) expresses as heavy, cool, oily, and smooth qualities.
2.Eating foods that are light, warm, dry and rough will minimize the Kapha dosha.

What are Tonsils?

The two lymph nodes located on each side of the back of your throat is known as Tonsils.

Function- Tonsils helps to prevent your body from getting an infection or plays an important role in defense mechanism. When they become infected, the condition is called tonsillitis.

It is a common childhood illness but can occur at any age.

What are Sign and Symptoms of Tonsillitis?

The most common signs and symptoms are-

It is mostly caused by common viruses and can also be caused by bacterial infections.

Causative Organism- Streptococcus pyogenes (group A streptococcus), the bacterium that causes strep throat.

Risk factors

1.Young age- It is common in children to suffer from tonsillitis, but rarely occurs in children younger than age 2. Viral tonsillitis is common in younger children while Bacterial Tonsillitis is most common in children between ages 5 to 15.
2.Exposure to germs- Frequent exposure to germs in School-age children.

Complications

Swelling or inflammation of the tonsils from ongoing (chronic) or frequent tonsillitis may cause the following complications –

1.Difficulty in breathing.
2.Obstructive sleep apnea or Breathing is disrupted during sleep
3.Tonsillar cellulitis or Infection that may spread deep into the surrounding tissue.
4.Peritonsillar abscess or Infection that can cause a collection of pus behind a tonsil.

1.As per Ayurveda perspective, it is correlated to Tundikeri.
2.It is described under Urdhvajatrugata roga and categorized under Talugataroga or diseases of the palate as well as Kanthagataroga or diseases of throat.
